Tuzla is a city with over 100.000 inhabitants, one of the leading centers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, university center, center of commerce and industry. Tuzla is a city in which exists over 30 youth NGOs, over 20 young and un recognized music groups, several youth theatres, city that has over 30.000 people under 25 years of age. Most of these organizations, as well as all young people from Tuzla are bonded with mutual problem – lack of premises for work and manifestation of their creative activities.

In almost all European cities, smaller or bigger, municipalities and municipality governments are dedicating their attention to the work of youth organizations and to free time of young people. Municipality authorities are gladly giving unused space to their young people (old warehouses, military camps, abandoned facilities etc) at the same time participating in refurbishing of those spaces, and financing those youth organizations. Thus creating possibilities for taking young people out of streets, and giving them possibilities to express themselves in creative, art or educational way.

Independent urban centers represent open spaces gathering independent creators were numerous artists, individuals and NGOs are working unbothered and independent. Tuzla still is not using these opportunities and healthy ideas coming from young people, and it is not helping them enough in finding spaces for their own creative expression.
Old city Tuzla center today represents a core of everyday gathering of young people. Unfortunately they are still gathering in coffee shops or street. Many objects in city center are going to waste broached by time and with subsidence of field caused by uncontrolled salt exploitation. Instead of investing, of giving opportunity to the young people of Tuzla and finding means of restorations of those spaces and introduction some activities in them, those buildings are collapsing, and on those places they are building new buildings (coffee shops).
Demolishing those buildings they are demolishing Tuzla history, architecture of that time is being sent to the past. Instead of preserving old architecture, town center is slowly and surely changing, many different architectural solutions with are not fitting in old urban environment, they are changing only heart of Tuzla and turning it in something we can’t recognize.

Initiative for the restoration of one of the abandoned buildings in the very center of Tuzla, and introduction youth activities in it exists for several years now. In this initiative several youth organizations are included, and it has been supported by several international organizations and movement. A real chance exists to find funds for the restoration of the one of abandoned buildings and ruined Tuzla buildings, and starting some activities in it. What is still missing, to close this circle is good will of the municipality authorities and their willingness for cooperation.

Project “House for dialogue Tuzla” represents idea of creation of the youth culture and informative center, which purpose would be:

- Gathering, exchange and placement of ideas which are important for the work of the youth organizations and individuals in Tuzla, Tuzla canton and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- opening of the culture center in which young Tuzla people, Tuzla canton, Nosnia and Herzegovina, and young people from other Balkan and European countries would have a place where they could freely express their culture creativity, without limitations.
- Starting a place for debates, round tables, workshops, presentations, etc. This place would be for all young people wishing to learn something, exchange opinion and ideas, talk about youth problems in B&H, and are trying to find right solutions for those problems. Aim of this project, as a democracy center, would be at the same time overcoming existing generation gap between young people and older generation, at the same time encouraging young people for their involvement in politics, democratization of B&H society and change in political attitude.
- At the same time, this center would serve as education of B&H public, were citizens could through different programs learn about the EU integration process, especially Bosnia and Herzegovina in to modern democracy trends.
- WEB coffee and informative center as a part of the house for dialogue would be working on constant promotion (electronically via web space, and all other forms of media promotion), centers and its activities, as well as all others, for B&H and European public.
- Practice place and music studio for young Tuzla musicians, providing a space for song music rehearsals, and recording demo materials.
