ORC Tuzla organized street action in Tuzla as a part of action days against discrimination and militarism. Activities of action against discrimination and militarism, supported by Norwegian ministry of foreign affairs, beside in Tuzla are taking place in: Jablanica (B&H), Krusevac (Serbia), Pristina (Kosovo), Ttetovo, Skopje and Prilep (Macedonia).
Youth Resource Center Tuzla along with its volunteers organized street action on Saturday 18th May 2013 in Korzo, center of Tuzla.
Topic of the action was "Discrimination over women in the employment process". 15 volunteers participated on the action, they have selected the topic on preparatory meetings and they have implemented it.
Officially action started at 11.00 hours and it lasted till 15.00 hours, volunteers gathered around 09.00. We have conducted a questionnaire among our citizens, in order to get their opinion on topic "Is there discrimination" and "Have you ever been discriminated", this information could be very valuable for eventual further engagement of volunteers on this project.
On one of many preparatory meeting it has been agreed on what the action should look like, volunteers came up with the idea to make a questionnaire for the Tuzla citizens on the topic of discrimination over women, behind the stand on the billboard we have posted notes and pictures of famous women in order to attract citizens to our stand. In order to animate citizens we have decorated our stand with balloons and we had candies which we have distributed to the citizens. In addition, we had music for the duration of whole action.
After the action ORC Tuzla handed over to all volunteers certificates for the successful completion of the street action.
